The market at the Tattersalls Derby Sale was especially strong this year, so we were delighted to land a horse of this quality at what we think will prove to be a bargain price. Chrisco is a really athletic gelding with size, scope, and exceptional movement and balance. He was top of our short list, and we were delighted when the hammer came down in our favour . His half sister by Doctor Dino (Doc Eti) is in training with Willie Mullins and very highly regarded. He will be joining his half sister at Closutton one he has completed his pre-training as Willie Mullins is his trainer elect. He has been broken and ridden since his acquisition, and we are delighted with his attitude. Once he has completed a short break he will start his full pre-training regime, before heading to Wil...

Backed up his early promise on the gallops when winning a decent 1 mile maiden at Haydock in October 2018. He did that with a bit to spare despite looking very green and edging across the track when pressed. A no show at Southwell where he hated the kickback. Runs in the colours of the  sporting John Blackburn with whom we share several horses. Finally grabbed his first win over hurdles at Carlisle in March 2021, and followed up by winning a 0-105 flat handicap at Newbury in April 2021. Ran a blinder in the Ascot Stakes to finish 3rd, and equally well to finish 3rd in the 2m 4f handicap at Goodwood in July. Now rated 100 on the flat his end of season target will be the Cesarewich. We will then be looking towards the better 3m hurdles during the winter.

By Davidoff ex Negresse de Cuta (Baroud d'Honneur)

A stunning horse who came very close to making his debut in the spring. In the end he just kept growing, and his size persuaded us to wait for safe ground and he will be heading to the Twiston-Davies yard this autumn to start his career in bumpers. His sire Davidoff has produced top class winners from what proved to be very limited numbers. Fantastikas is a really athletic horse with a stride that covers a lot of ground. We consider him a top class prospect and cannot wait to see him on a racecourse.

By Saddler Maker ex Quick des Sacart (Ragmar)

Halligator is an athletic gelding by top sire Saddler Maker, with plenty of size and scope. He was second in a competitive bumper at Galway, with the front two pulling clear. he may well have given the winner plenty to think about but for losing ground when Taken very wide on the final bend by Derek O’Connor. Purchased at the Cheltenham point to point sale he has settled into the Kim Bailey yard well, and will be ready to run in a few weeks. We are a big fan of his sire who is responsible for top class performers such as Apples Jade, Bristol Des Mai, Alpha Des Obeaux and Defi Bleu. Halligator will resume his career in bumpers before starting his jumping career next spring.

As sales prices increase it is increasingly difficult to find value in the market. We think that this horse will prove to be exceptional value having been acquired from the Goffs Land Rover Sale at a bargain price. He is a very athletic gelding, who moves well and has plenty of scope and size. Mount Nelson his sire is steadily climbing the ranks having produced top class horses such as Penhill, Get In The Queue and Pure Bliss from his early crops. He was broken on his return from the sales and has been ridden and cantered. Early loose schooling sessions over poles have shown him to be a natural jumper, making a great shape at his obstacles. The plan will be to give him a short break before he enters his pre-training program. All the signs are that he is quite precocious so he ...

Imperial Alcazar (1) View Full Profile
By Vinnie Roe x Maddy's Supreme (Supreme Leader)

The only reason Imperial Alcazar has not won a race is the standard of the races he has run in. Bumpers were never going to be his thing as ideally, he wants softer ground, a longer trip and some obstacles to navigate. His run in the listed bumper at Ascot saw him finish three lengths in front of The Glancing Queen giving her 3lbs. She subsequently ran 5th in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham and won the Grade 2 Mares Bumper at Aintree. Imperial Alcazar is very talented and will be running in the better hurdle races this autumn. His schooling at home has been of high quality and he will be not be long in getting his head in front.

Winner of three of his four races under rules. Broke the track record at Carlisle when beating Sole Pretender by 3¼ lengths. (Sole Pretender won on the next three occasions before finishing 5th in the Galway Hurdle off a mark of 147). Followed up by winning a Novice Hurdle at Newcastle impressively. His season was cut short by recurring issues with sore shins, which were pin fired at the end of the season. He will definitely get three miles and will improve again for a step up in trip and a fence. Will return this season to start his novice chasing career and we are hoping he will be contesting some of the better races throughout the season.

Imperial B G was purchased and will run in memory of Barry Grayson. Barry was true gentleman and sportsman who loved nothing more than a good days racing. As a fitting tribute his son Michael Grayson decided to purchase a horse to syndicate between his family and friends. At Imperial Racing we were extremely proud and excited to be asked to assist in the selection of the horse and running of the partnership. We immediately set about finding a horse fitting to represent the great man and after an extensive search we think we have found him. Imperial B G is a simply stunning athletic gelding by top NH sire Getaway. He is 16 ‘ 2 hands, with a long easy walk and has plenty of scope. He has solid conformity and looks every inch a chaser in the making. Despite his size he is e...

We have had great success with our purchased from the Goffs Land Rover sales in previous years including Imperial Aura our latest Cheltenham Festival winner. When going through this year’s draft this horse was one which immediately made it into our notebooks. We were delighted to
secure him for a price which represents great value for a horse who is not only a cracking physical specimen but also comes from a top national hunt line. We know the family well as Imperial Racing owned Definitive Edge who was a high class hurdler for Willie Mullins. The sire, Black Sam Bellamy, is considered one of the top National Hunt stallions producing a number of top class graduates.  Imperial Hurricane stands 16’2, is very athletic and a beautiful mover. We were delighted to secure the services of Imperial Storm last season, and his homework suggests he is a horse of some ability. So when his  younger full brother came onto the market we had to have an interest. Once he walked out of the stable he became our number one target at this  years Tattersalls Derby sale as he is a simply stunning individual. He stands 16’2 and has a great long stride. He is a very athletic horse, with solidconformity and has tremendous presence. From the high class family of Thisthatandtother, Carlingford Loch and The Tother One, and he looks  well capable of living up to that lineage. He will enjoy a short break and then start his breaking and pre-training regime. Imperial Lightning is a top   class prospect, and we ca...

We really like this horse and he was a steal given he cost 60,000 Euros as a foal. He come from the family of Thisthatandtother, Carlingford Loch and The Tother One. His half brother Long After Dark won an Irish point in March 2018 and was bought for £120,000 by KevinRoss (a good judge!) at the Cheltenham Sale. By top sire Shantou from a classic National Hunt dam line and has the physique to back up his pedigree. A very exciting prospect with a lot of quality.

A gelding with a top class black type pedigree coming from the family of Casual Look, Casual Smile, Shabby Chic, Fashion Statement and Magnificience. He was a sizeable 2 year old and consequently we gave plenty of time to mature both physically and mentally. Imperial Vortex has scope and size for a dual purpose career with a pedigree laden with top class staying horses. He was broken and ridden as a two year old then turned away to give him time to grow into his frame. He has developed into a really nice specimen, with scope, size and athleticism. His pre-training has gone well and we like what we have seen both in his flat work and his schooling.  He stands at 16’2 and has a long stride. We will look to get him started in bumpers and on the basis of his progress so...

A stunning individual with size, scope, athleticism and a great temperament. He was our pick of this years Tattersalls Derby sale, and also the pick of his trainer who had the choice of this years Imperial Racing stores purchases. As well as his striking appearance he has a relaxed attitude to life and has handled his pre-training education with ease. He has jumped poles and hurdles with aplomb and we have been delighted with his progress. His sire is enjoying a good level of success, and the first four foals from his dam have all won showing a good level of ability over jumps. He has the scope to jump fences in time, but we expect him to make a bold showing in bumpers and hurdles on route. He is currently comple...

Of all the horses at the Goffs Land Rover Sale (and they were a nice bunch), this is the one we wanted to bring home. At just short of 16’ 2’ he    is a gorgeous athlete with a huge amount of quality. He comes from a top French dam line which has already produced some top class race horses. His full sister (Marine Jag) was purchased by Nick Gifford at last years Tattersalls Derby Sale for Euro 70,000 and is held in very high regard.  Unbelievably, we were able to secure him for 8...

A filly with a top class pedigree coming from the family of Hellenic, Islington, New Morning, Greek Dance and Election Day. She was a sizeable 2 year old and was given plenty of time to mature. She has scope and size for a dual purpose career with a pedigree laden with top class staying horses. Although she was broken and ridden as a two year old we were always minded to give her time to grow into her frame and she has developed into a really nice specimen. We have been impressed with the quality of her work in pre-training, and she has shown a lot of natural athletic ability in her schooling so far. A sizeable son of a sire with a growing reputation through offspring such as Ornua. Glen Forsa, Ok Corral and Chris’s Dream. A nice moving athletic horse who doesn’t look as if he will take too long to come to hand. Owned by Ian Robinson and Brian Phillips he will be seen to best effect when the mud is flying and the fences come quick and fast. Stands 16’1 already and covers a fair but of ground. Only a recent purchase and will be broken at Mount Top Stud before being turned out for a short spell. When he comes into
pre-training his initial aim will be a bumper in the late spring.

Our number 1 pick of the Goffs Land Rover Sale from a strong catalogue of horses. He is a stand out athlete with size, scope and balance. By a sire who is building an impressive  list of graded    winners in France and the UK, from a Saint Des Saints dam line.  A horse with a lot of quality and presence he has not disappointed since we took him home. He has been broken and is currently in   pre-training with a view to contesting races for Fergal O’Brien later this season. He has the scope to jump fences in time but should prove equally adept in bumpers and over hurdles. As part of his  pre-training he has already been lunged over poles and jumped hurdles making it all look very easy. Once he has completed his    pre-training r...
